Mayron's Operetta Tips for Teachers

  • Perform with our midi or mp3 files because it is too difficult for young pianists to accompany singers.

  • Schedule five rehearsals to put together a casual 45-minute performance for family and friends. Rehearsals may be once-a-week for five weeks or each day for a week. Performance does not require a stage. Scenery and costumes can be as simple or complex as your resources and time allow.

  • An alternative to staging a play is to have your students learn all the sheet music and perform the compositions for their parents on the last lesson of the course. You or a student can narrate the story. Consider using hats for costumes and playing the recital at the keyboards in your studio.
